GLOBALG.A.P.
Thank you very much for your message. We would like to clarify that each GGN number pertains to a different case and a unique legal entity. Regarding the mentioned “Valdinei Aparecido Roque” we can confirm that there is currently one registration at the GLOBALG.A.P. database with the GGN number 4056186501837. However, as publicly visible, this GGN number is not certified at this time.
In general, please be aware that it is important to distinguish between each registration, certification and GGN number. Each GGN number refers to a separate case and is linked to a unique legal entity. At this time, we shared with you information on the ed GGN number 4056186501837.
Please note that in general the GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat strongly condemns any abuse of workers’ rights and any social abuse. At the same time, we must emphasize that most of the observations that you describe are criminal acts that are outside the scope of all certification systems. Criminal acts fall under the jurisdiction of the law enforcement authorities.

Thank you very much for your message. We would like to clarify that due to a technical system issue, the GGN number in question was incorrectly displayed as certified on the GLOBALG.A.P. platform. As we have communicated directly, the producer is currently ed for certification, which means that the producer applied to become certified, but is not certified at this time.
Should this GGN number finally receive a certification, the GLOBALG.A.P. certification system requires that the producer is thoroughly evaluated by an independent, accredited, third-party certification body to compliance with the predefined certification criteria. Please note that certification decisions are made exclusively by these independent certification bodies, based on their impartial assessment.
Dole
Thank you again for your patience and bringing this to our attention.
Dole UK has investigated the claims. Dole has no direct relationship with the producer in question.
In 2024, Dole UK worked with two third-party exporters who supplied produce grown by the identified producer. We have been formally assured by both exporters that no Dole bound produce was sourced from the farm specifically referenced in your query. Further, it is our understanding that produce from that particular farm is not exported.
Currently we are sourcing through only one of these third party exporters. We have re-emphasized our requirements and received renewed assurances from the exporter that no produce will be sourced from the identified farm on Dole’s behalf going forward.
Dole UK is fully committed to responsible business practices and maintains a zero tolerance for any human rights abuse. Dole UK has an established technical code of practice under which Dole UK and its suppliers operate.
Again thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond.
Jaguar Fresh Fruit
Thank you for your message and for bringing this matter to our attention. We appreciate the importance of your work and the seriousness of the allegations described in your investigation.
First and foremost, we would like to clarify the following:
1. Information: The email addressed to [email protected] did not reach us, neither in the address nor in the spamfilter. This is likely why your messages have gone unanswered. Your email to [email protected] may also not have been received due to technical or spam routing issues. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and are now responding promptly.
2. No Recent Direct Relationship with Peru Comercial Exportadora De Frutas: Jaguar has not recently had any direct interaction or commercial relationship with the Brazilian company Peru Comercial Exportadora De Frutas Eireli. The products mentioned were purchased through an intermediary, and Jaguar was unaware of the original grower or the conditions under which the lemons were produced. That being said, the grower in question still is in possession of a GlobalGap Grasp certification, which is our first benchmark for social conditions. I would suggest you take up this matter with the relevant organisation.
3. Response to the Allegations: We are deeply concerned about the reported labor violations and the exploitation of workers under inhumane conditions. Jaguar strongly condemns all forms of forced or child labor and is committed to ethical sourcing and human rights across our value chain.
4. Due Diligence and Supplier Policies: Jaguar has a sustainability and supplier policy in place which includes clear commitments to ethical labor practices. We work primarily with trusted, long-term partners and importers who are expected to adhere to these standards. As a result of your report, we will:
• Immediately investigate the case further in coordination with the intermediary involved.
• Reassess our due diligence protocols regarding transparency of grower-level information in indirect supply chains.
• Take appropriate measures with our supplier(s) to ensure no products from unethical sources enter our chain going forward.
5. Supply Chain Traceability: Due to the indirect nature of the sourcing in this specific case, we are currently ing the details of any past transactions involving lemons sourced from Peru Comercial. At this time, we cannot confirm the exact shipment dates or volumes, but will fully cooperate with authorities and conduct internal audits as needed.
6. Processes: While we strive for ethical integrity throughout our global network, we acknowledge – and so should you – the complexity of agricultural supply chains and the challenges of maintaining a physical presence and visibility in every link, especially when once has a worldwide grower base. In this instance, distances of more than 11,000 kilometers apply. Nevertheless, this case underscores the need for constant vigilance and improvement, which we are committed to.
